Music Yeah

(Words by JC Bassey and Flawless, Music by Bertha Control)

This is a matter of what’s been lost
Of what’s been taken away from us,
Women, the environment and free education
Are all just games for big corporations.
So now we are trying to reclaim the future
For the animals, the people, we hope our music suits ya
Music is for me about the freedom of expression
And I know that for a lot of you it makes a big impression.

For activists for my parents indeed
For my friends and those in need
Of the pleasure it brings and the feelings it sings
Music is for All!
But privilege once again reigns through
In Western society you must pay your dues,
Your class, race, gender does count
In order to enjoy it you’ve got to have the right amount

Music YeaMusic Yeah,, Music, don’t take it away now
Music Yeah, give me my left arm back
Music Yeah. Music, don’t take it away now
Music Yeah, reclaiming it for ourselves

We play to reclaim the night,
Not for people to steal in spite,
We play to save trees from execution
And to support the revolution,
To one day soon free the refugees
And bring those powers to their knees,
Our calloused fingers aren’t worn through,
But we are always willing too

{Chorus}
